Pasifika Poetry - NZEPC
Kia Ora, Welcome
blackmail press was created to give poets, students and poetry readers in
New Zealand a site to read, submit and find great  poetry. The impetus was to promote New Zealand poets and to provide an environment for emerging New Zealand poets to share their works.

Poets are asked to submit works they feel best showcase their unique voice:

2009 UPCOMING ISSUES Submission Guidelines

Black Mail Press Issue # 24 - Secrets
Deadline: 15 April 2009
Guest editor:  Miriam Barr

Keeping and sharing secrets seem to be a universal part of the human condition – something we learn very early on as children and carry throughout our lives.  The idea that some things should remain private and unsaid is intriguing, throwing up many lines of contemplation.  What do we keep secret?  Why?  What is the effect of holding these parts of ourselves back?
Poetry has long been a medium for communicating inner worlds and subjective experience.  Through making the secret public, poetry bridges the gap between individuals, allowing us to peer into the worlds of others and draw connections with our own.
Poets are invited to submit 3-5 poems exploring 'Secrets' for the next issue of Black Mail Press.  It is hoped that 'Secrets' provides scope enough for a wide range of subject materials, methods and interpretations.  The poems submitted could be secrets themselves, or they could have a more conceptual approach.  Poets submitting to this issue are encouraged to take this theme and run with it in whichever direction they see fit.

Submissions must be sent in the body of an email to miriam1barr16@gmail.com along with a short biographical note.

Black Mail Press Issue # 25 - Rebel
Deadline: 15 May 2009
The Rebel Issue, Guest edited by Sarah Jane Barnett and Bill Nelson

Good art is about resisting tradition. It's time to break the rules of poetry and form, write about subversive topics, politics, authority or the experience of rebellion. This broad theme gives New Zealand writers the opportunity to showcase interesting and original work about being different, unique or just plain disobedient.

Poetry/Prose Submissions:
Please submit up to three works as MS Word compatible attachments to: rebelissue@gmail.com
